Everyone at Haslemere Museum has been working exceptionally hard behind the scenes in order to get the Museum ready for re-opening on May 17th. This past year has been a challenge financially for the independent Museum, which relies on generated income such as donations, membership, room hire and grants. The team are keen to hit the ground running in order to attract visitors through the door to its varied programme of exhibitions and events.
In the first fortnight, beginning Monday 17 May, the Museum will be brimming with talks and lectures, which take place as part of the programme of the Haslemere Festival. During this time the Museum often sees new visitors through the door and will be taking the opportunity to charm them with the promise of exhibitions to come during the rest of the year and a plethora of event opportunities for all ages.
You might come to the Museum for a talk on ‘The Mystery of the Marie Celeste’ and leave with a date to come and view an exhibition on contemporary weaving and the chance to find out about hiring our event space for a Covid-secure meeting or event.
You might head to our Lecture Hall for a talk on ‘Gilbert White – The Outdoor Naturalist’ and leave with a wealth of gifts from the Museum shop, including a gift membership for a friend or family member to enable them to enjoy the Museum programme for a whole year. The possibilities are endless once you enter The World on your High Street!
