The Chamber is reviewing how best it can support our local business community in the run-up to Christmas and in the face of continued COVID restrictions, and wants your guidance.

Ideas currently on the virtual table are:

  1. A December ‘FiverFest’, in which businesses taking part put on special £5 offers to show the diversity and value of what they sell, say thank you to the communities that support them and attract people to spend locally.  Nationally this is organised by Totally Locally who provide a lot of supporting collateral for businesses to use;
  2. Sundays opening in the run-up to Christmas;
  3. An evening event in town when the Christmas tree lights are switched-on; and,
  4. Using currently-empty retail units for Christmas-market pop-ups.

 Views on these initiatives, or suggestions for others, especially those which might also support our non-retail businesses should be sent to by 31st October please.
