What would you do to keep Haslemere High Streets alive?

The Haslemere Chamber of Commerce, with our Town Council and Waverley Council is considering the preparation of an application to become a BID (a Business Improvement District) whereby, if successful, it would have access to funds each year of approximately £60-£70,000 per annum to spend on projects suggested by the business community that would enhance the town’s commercial prospects and make it a more attractive destination for shoppers and other businesses alike. We are looking at a “joined-up” BID across Waverley Borough with Cranleigh, Farnham and Godalming.
We have retained the services of The Mosaic Partnership (an experienced BID Manager) to develop a feasibility study for this initiative. During December, Mosaic will be meeting with some 15 people across Haslemere to collect their views and ideas on a BID
The aim of the January workshop is raise awareness across all relevant parties in Haslemere / Wayhill and an opportunity to raise project ideas and issues for each area. A BID is primarily the concern of business (including charity) rate payers – but all are welcome.
