In recent weeks, the Museum’s Premises Manager, Nick Harding, and the outdoor volunteer team have been undertaking essential works to get the Museum ready. This has included redecorating the iconic front porch which welcomes visitors into the Museum.

When the Museum reopens on the 17th May, it will start its programming by hosting two weeks of talks as part of the Haslemere Festival. It will also be showing two exhibitions, namely ‘Murder of the Sailor at Hindhead’ displaying five paintings that depict this infamous local story, as well as an exhibition by The British Tapestry Group entitled, ‘Window on Weaving’.

Curator of Haslemere Museum, Julia Tanner, said, “We are delighted to be so close to reopening our doors to the public. We have missed our visitors and volunteers and it will be wonderful to provide our services to the community once again”.
