Haslemere Rotary Club is appealing to local sewing enthusiasts to get involved in a community activity to help the Club deliver on the project to provide reconditioned laptops to local schools. They are looking for support to upcycle used coffee sacks into to lovely everyday products like tote bags, storage baskets and cushion covers (see images below) to be sold to raise money towards reconditioning the laptops.

Each laptop costs approximately £35 to recondition and local schools have confirmed there will be an ongoing need for them, even when home schooling finishes.  The patterns are straightforward and can be sewn with any standard sewing machine. The sacks, donated by Pact Coffee have a (very) loose weave and would require a 90-100 universal or denim needle. Full instructions, materials and patterns will be provided.
