Haslemere and surrounding villages will be celebrating being ‘Back in Business’ on Saturday 15th August with an open day to highlight all our local businesses have to offer. With market stalls, music and a treasure hunt, the day has been designed to bring people back into our shops and restaurants and show why it makes sense to stay safe and shop local.
Saturday 15th August is also the 75thanniversary of VJ Day, so the event is 1940s themed and local businesses have been invited to join in a window dressing competition. Look out for Haslemere’s Mayor and Deputy Mayor as they drive around the area in a WW2 army jeep!
The open day is part of the wider #HeartOfHaslemere campaign, a partnership between Haslemere Town Council and the Chamber of Commerce. So far the campaign has delivered colourful bunting for our retail areas, recyclable, branded paper cups, the sprucing up of communal areas and publicity for local shops and businesses as lockdown restrictions ease.
The Chamber will have a stand outside ASK restaurant in Charter Walk. We’d love to showcase our members products and services so if you have flyers, leaflets or other promotional items you can drop them off at the stand from 9am. We look forward to seeing you there.
