Haslemere Museum’s lively programme of events got underway this week with the first Tea and Talk session of the new year.

The Museum’s textile expert Freda Chapman introduced the Horsnaill Collection to an enthusiastic audience providing a fascinating insight into this remarkable collection. The collection was recently donated to the Museum and contains wonderful household accessories and items of clothing mainly from Eastern and Southern Europe. There was a variety of objects on display for visitors to see including beautiful traditional national costumes from Greece.

Lindsay Moreton, Collections Manager said: “Our Tea and Talk sessions are a great opportunity for visitors to enjoy the Museum and to engage in our collections seeing objects in a new light and not normally on display to the public.”

The talks are held every other month, where you can discover more about the Museum’s collections in an informal setting with tea and biscuits. The next talk will be held on Tuesday 21st March at 2.30pm. To find out more, visit www.haslemeremuseum.co.uk
