As the festive season fast approaches, Haslemere Museum will be hosting two Victorian Christmas craft workshops. These creative wellbeing workshops are a wonderful opportunity to join artist Diana Burch to rediscover the traditional spirit of the festive season and create beautiful Christmas decorations all inspired by a Victorian Christmas. The workshops have been kindly sponsored by the Haslemere Decorative and Fine Arts Society as part of their charitable ‘Arts in the Community’ project.

Diana Burch explains “The Victorian age saw the popularisation of Christmas celebrations. Although this was the beginning of commercialisation many people took pleasure in adorning their homes with decorations they made with whatever was to hand. In these creative wellbeing workshops, we revisit the Victorian spirit of Christmas by making decorations using everyday recycled materials and embellishing them for the festive season in imaginative ways with lots of glitter and sequins involved!”.

The workshops will run on Tuesday 21 November from 14:30-16:30 and an evening workshop from 19:00-21:00. Tickets at £5 for Museum and HDFAS members and £7 for non-members are now available and need to be booked in advance. To find out more, visit
