Patients and staff at Holy Cross Hospital in Haslemere welcomed the town’s Mayor when he visited to wish them a happy Christmas. Mayor Sahran Abeysundara called into the hospital on Thursday 8 December and spent around an hour chatting with staff and patients.
Christopher Hinton, Chief Executive of Holy Cross thanked the Mayor for visiting: “The staff and patients really enjoyed seeing the Mayor and showing him some of the amazing work we do here. We’re grateful to him for coming to see us, particularly at this time of year when I know he is very busy.”
After his visit, the Mayor said: “I was very impressed with the care and innovative treatments that Holy Cross provides to patients and how they constantly strive to do better for every individual. I was also interested to hear about the hospital’s development plans and look forward to helping Holy Cross celebrate its centenary in 2017.”
During the visit the Mayor saw the hydrotherapy pool, which forms an important part of the therapy for many patients in their recovery and rehabilitation. The pool, which has accessible changing rooms and a hoist, is also available to outpatients for treatment and exercise.
