Philip Jackson is not only opening AppArt’s Easter Exhibition and Sculpture Trail he is also taking part. Philip is one of the foremost sculptors in the country and his public commissions are in prominent positions through the country. Mahatma Gandhi in Parliament Square, the Queen on horseback at Windsor are just two of many examples. We are delighted that we will be able to show his Venetian inspired work both on the Sculpture trail and indoors as well.
During the last 12 months we have been attending art exhibitions in London and the South East and as a result we have many new artists taking part. We now have exhibitors coming from as far away as Cumbria, Wales, Yorkshire, Cornwall and Norfolk as well as our core artists from the local area and the Home Counties.
Haslemere artists are well represented including chamber member Peter Searight’s photography. David Paynter is showing pictures and sculptures, Julia and Colin Webster some stunning glass art. Christine Thompson’s beautiful landscapes of the South Downs fand Ruth Bacmeister’s miniature like paintings of local scenes will all appear. Christine Suzman’s animal sculptures with their Chinese inspired glazes will also be on show.
AppArt’s Easter Exhibition and Sculpture Trail is open from 10:00 to 16:00 from 1-16 April (Easter Sunday). It is being held at Prior’s Field School, Godalming. Entry is free, refreshments are available and a warm welcome is assured.
