Getting in shape tops many people’s list of new year’s resolutions with running being a popular choice of activity.
To help keep runners on track with their 2020 training programme, The Physiotherapy Centre at Holy Cross Hospital is holding a lecture about running well on Thursday 6 February from 6-7pm.
Specialists will share their knowledge on injury prevention and management as well as offering training advice. The lecture will end with a question and answer session so that specific queries can be addressed.
Ed Carroll who has a particular interest in sports physiotherapy says: “This lecture is for people who have recently taken up or returned to running. We’re aiming to demonstrate how to minimise the risk of injury as an ankle sprain or a flare up from an old injury can soon put an end to those good intentions to get fit. I also plan to touch on how physiotherapy can help enhance performance and cure acute and chronic injuries.”
Tickets for the lecture cost £5 which includes light refreshments. To book, please call 01428 647647 or email therapy@holycross.org.uk. All proceeds will go towards Holy Cross Hospital’s fundraising appeal to build a wheelchair accessible treehouse for patients and their families.
The lecture will be held in the conference centre at Holy Cross Hospital. Visit www.thephysiotherapycentre.org.uk for more information.
